The company has unveiled an Artificial intelligence-equipped, voice-activated steering wheel which could be removed from the car. Deriving its name from famed Jaguar designer Malcolm Sayer, it is Jaguar’s vision of the steering wheel’s future.
In a technology driven future where mobility solutions replace car ownership, this steering wheel will emerge as the sole part owned by the car driver. Other than being your personal companion, the steering wheel could carry out numerous tasks like calling upon the owner's vehicle of choice and making sure it is all set for the passenger at an exact time. In fact, it could work wonders to work out a schedule for you, directing you when you need to get up and when the car needs to show up for a specific meeting.
The Sayer is designed with an aim to be brought into its owner’s home and used like the Amazon’s Alexa voice command device.
Jaguar strongly affirms that the Sayer is an intelligent devise that could calculate your journey depending upon the time you get up. Furthermore, it also gives the control of the car back to the driver when it calculates that it will be an enjoyable drive.
Sayer will be showcased at the JLR Tech Fest later this week. This concept will be featured along the keynote from Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth.
