In a giant push towards Electrification: Austin Martin plans to go all-hybrid over the next decade

The auto-giant’s, Austin Martin plans to make a giant leap towards the hybrid technology within the next decade. As quoted by the company’s CEO Andy Palmer, “We will be 100percent hybrid by the middle of 2020”. The automaker will not only cater battery vehicles but also plans to unleash mid-hybrid cars coupling the electric battery with a traditional combustion engine.

Austin Marin’s all-hybrid resolution may sound similar to that of Volvo, but there is a notable difference. As Volvo plans to electrify all its cars, Austin Martin will simply feature electrification as an option that could be loaded on each and every car model throughout its range. While Volvo will stop manufacturing the vehicles that are powered by gas or diesel, Aston-martin will continue selling vehicles that are non-hybrid.

As estimated by the company, nearly a quarter of the cars will be all electric by the end of the next decade. Meanwhile, the carmaker is all geared up to produce its first ever all-electric car, called the Rapid-e which will storm the market in 2019. It is also possible to catch sight of a hybrid variant of the upcoming DBX crossover after its production commences in 2019.
