The Nissan Altima is popular as an all-rounder sedan and it is one of the most common cars that is seen on Dubai roads. The car is an affordable alternative to Honda Accord and it offers excellent handling while diving through the city. An updated version of the Nissan Altima will be soon available in the showrooms as the 2019 Nissan Altima has made its debut at the New York Auto Show.
The 2019 model will be the sixth generation of Altima and it promises to promote sales for the Japanese carmaker. The new model wears a bold look and it comes with an all-wheel-drive system for the base version. Moreover, Nissan has also introduced a version with a VC-Turbo engine that is also equipped in 2019 Infiniti QX50. The ability to achieve a perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency is the 2019 Nissan Altima’s key feature that will attract customers.
Powertrain
The base version of 2019 Nissan Altima gets a 2.5-litre inline-4 engine that delivers 180 hp. The version with the V-6 engine will not be available as its engine has been replaced with the VC-Turbo engine that delivers a power of 248 hp. The VC-Turbo engine is able to change its compression ratio to offer better efficiency. Both the engine versions are coupled to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) transmission system.
Cabin Design
The 2019 Nissan Altima is as spacious as the earlier model. The sedan is equipped with Nissan’s ProPilot to Assist semi-autonomous driving technology to support the driver. The system enables safe and semi-autonomous driving controls while the car is speeding on the highway and also when it is amid city traffic.
Pricing and Competition
The demand for sedans may be decreasing but there is still a large number of customers who prefer to buy sedans that are best suited for a family as well as urban driving. The 2019 Nissan Altima will be competing with new models from Toyota Camry and Honda Accord in addition to updated models of Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu. The pricing details of the 2019 Nissan Altima haven’t been revealed but it is speculated that the new model will have a starting price close to $23,260.
Instead of relying on price, the new Nissan Altima aims to beat the competition by designing roomy as well as luxurious interiors and an AWD to all Altima new versions. However, it lags behind its rivals as far as technology is concerned. Will the spacious 2019 Nissan Altima continue to remain a popular mainstream sedan in the midsize car segment?
