The Mustang Shelby has always been one of Ford’s high-performance cars ever since it was designed and built by Ford in 2005. And Ford is striving to improve the car’s performance by designing models that will match up with Dodge’s Challenger SRT Hellcat and Chevy’s Camaro ZL1.
Earlier this year, Ford released the details about its upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang GT and the data suggests that the new Mustang may have larger engine displacement that is similar to Mustang GT’s Coyote. The 2018 model will be released soon and it is equipped with a GT350’s 5.2-liter Voodoo V-8 engine that delivers 460 hp. The car will come with a six-speed manual transmission and it has a starting price of $65,000. However, the 2018 is neither powerful to take on the Hellcat and nor fast enough to surpass the ZL1 even with the 10-speed automatic. So, Ford has inched a step further to design 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, a more powerful version, which will be making its debut in 2019.
The Mustang GT500 is poised to be one of the most aggressive cars of 2019 as it will be powered by a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 that will deliver 662 hp. Moreover, the car has also been endowed with aggressive looks and it is touted to be the ‘car of 2019’ that will help Ford to catch up with its competitors. There are even speculations that the GT500 will be equipped with a superior engine that has the potential to deliver more than Dodge Challenge Hellcat’s 707 hp. The GT500 has an exterior that is similar to the upcoming 2018 Mustang. Additionally, it has been adorned with white and blues stripes that were present on the GT350. The starting price of this premium model will be around $70,000 and it will be equipped with a quick-shifting dual-clutch transmission.
