While Audi is gearing up to showcase its latest creation, the 2020 SQ8 we caught some spy shots of the sport-studded car and almost pictured it before its auto show debut.
The car is expected to show up alongside the standard Q8 anytime next year. Furthermore, the car would be joined by a full-fledged RS Q8 which has already been trademarked in the previous years.
Thanks to our secret shots, we could firmly say that Q8 is a coupe-like SUV that will have a size as similar as Q7 and give a cut-throat competition to the rivals BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. Meanwhile the RS Q8 would go after the X6 M and GLE63 Coupe.
Because of the dual-exhaust tips merged well into the rear fascia and lower ride than the standard Q8, we are sure the prototype belongs to the SQ8.
What sets the RS Q8 apart is a more aggressive front fascia, flared fenders, oversized oval exhaust tips and sportier wheels, uprated tires and brakes. The Q8 sport concept featured in the Geneva Motor Show this year gives an ample hint at how a Q8 might look like.
Focusing the limelight at the SQ8’s powertrain, the Q8 Sport concept could be an inspiration. To highlight its power-packed performance, the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 is paired with an electric motor to generate a combined 469 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This setup works wonders to race from 0-60 mph acceleration in a brief 4.7 seconds.
