The theme of the ongoing Frankfurt motor show is none other than electric mobility. Joining the electric joy ride is the German auto-giants: BMW which has featured a brand new concept electric sedan known as the BMW iVision Dynamics. The brand new sedan runs on an all-electric platform and will be unleashed as the part of the brand's 'i' sub-brand which solely aims at electric mobility solutions. The new iVision Dynamics is one of its kind and expected to enter the production soon. Scheduled to slot between the i3s hatchback and the i8 hybrid sports car, it will be called the BMW i5.
This electric car is a 4-door Gran Coupe with a range of 600 kms. Featuring sleek and stylish design, it will reach from 0-100 kmph in merely 4 seconds and records a top speed of over 200 kmph. The concept car derives inspiration from the BMW Concept Next which was released last year.
We could expect the production version of the BMW iVision Dynamics Concept or the BMW i5 to take on the calibres of Tesla Model S and electrified competitors from Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
According to Harold Kruger, the chairman and CEO of BMW, the German auotmaker will launch almost 25 electrified models by 2025, 12 of which will be all-electric.
