BMW 8-series coupe all set for the production

As we await the next surprise from BMW, the carmaker is preoccupied preparing the resurgence of its renowned 8-Series nameplate. Even though there’s no second opinion that it will first commence with a two-door variant, the future variant of the 8-Series' is speculated to include a four-door Gran Coupe model too.

Embrace yourself! The recent buzz comes right from the BMW Blog, which confirms that a BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe will hit the market in late 2019 and follow the footsteps of the 8-Series Coupe. It plans to unleash a full house for the 8-Series, which will not only feature a coupe but also M8 variant and convertible as well. So, if the 8-Series Gran Coupe makes an arrival, one could imagine it as an extended variant of the regular coupe model.

Deriving its foundation from the handsome concept, the 8-Series features a long, wide, and planted. Credits to the BMW's CLAR platform, which first made its way in 2016 7-Series, the 8-Series is all set to tip the scales with lighter curb weights. Powertrains are most likely to include V-8 and V-12 alternates; nevertheless a plug-in hybrid doesn't seem distant either.

The 8-series is expected to go into production later in 2018 and arrive in the markets by 2019. If our secret input proves true, an 8-Series Gran Coupe would arrive in the third-quarter of 2019.
