BMW’s brand new X2 has taken the motor-world by storm after the coupe-SUV’s spy pictures went viral on the internet. With the spy photographs confirming X2’s arrival in the market by early 2018, it is all geared up to tempt the potential buyers to a more metropolitan compact model.
The makers have given a more aggressive look to the new X2 than its predecessor X1. The car is enriched with the goodness of broader intake openings complimented by bolder and wider grille. This makes sure that X2 will basically lay its attention on style and performance and make the foundation for the high-end Mini Cooper drive trains.
Thanks to the spy pictures, it seems that the production of X2 would closely follow the design portrayed at the 2016 Paris motor show. Even though, it shares the line-up with the X1 but it anticipated that X2 is most likely to feature more power-studded engines to compliment the xDrive’s traction supremacy.
X2 is likely to make its debut by opening with the 100kW/220Nm 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. The higher end- Front drive is likely to feature 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with 141kW/280Nm and the top end ‘all-wheel drive xDrive25i’ would come loaded with the goodness of a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol with 170kW/350Nm.
For now there is no official confirmation about the X2’s sale plans in North America, but it is most likely to hit the American market at $40,000 barrier, where it would be featured just below BMW's larger X3.
