The Honda CR-V is regarded as the most versatile compact SUV that is suitable for urban and off-road conditions. The SUV is one of the most powerful in the small SUV segment and it offers an amazing fuel economy. The 2018 Honda CR-V model is a fully redesigned model that will prove to be the best family SUV due to its spacious cabin and excellent ride quality. Even though it is not the lowest-priced SUV in its respective segment, the 2018 Honda CR-V has several worthy features and specifications that deliver value for money.

 

Engine Specifications

The base version of the 2018 Honda CR-V comes equipped with a 2.4-litre inline-4 engine that delivers a power of 184 hp and a torque of 180 pound-feet.  The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission system.  The fuel-economy ratings for the FWD Honda CR-V are 26 mpg / 32 mpg for city/highway while the AWD Honda CR-V gives fuel economy ratings of 25 mpg / 31 mpg for city/highway. 

Trim levels like EX, EX-L, and Touring are equipped with the turbocharged 1.5-litre inline-4 engine that delivers a power of 190 hp and a torque of 179 pound-feet.  The turbocharged engine is more economical than the engine found in the base version as the turbocharged FWD models deliver fuel economy ratings of 28 mpg / 34 mpg for city/highway. The turbocharged AWD models give fuel economy ratings of 27 mpg / 33 mpg for city/highway. These are the best fuel economy figures that can be delivered by any compact SUV.

 

Spacious Interiors

The 2018 Honda CR-V is one of the roomiest SUV in its respective segment. The SUV has a cargo space that is more spacious than its competitors. In comparison to the previous model, the 2018 model has 2 inches additional rear legroom and a 9.8-inch extra flat load floor. With the 60/40-split rear seats in the raised position, the cargo space measures to 39.2 cubic feet while space expands to 75.8 cubic feet after lowering the rear seats. The underfloor storage space behind the rear seats also adds to the roominess.

 

Technology Features

The base LX model of the 2018 Honda CR-V gets standard features like Bluetooth connectivity, Pandora internet radio support, and a USB port. It also gets a basic 5-inch radio display. The LX model does not get any additional features and hence customers willing to buy advanced features must spend more money to buy higher trim levels that get active safety features, a larger touchscreen and an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2018 Honda CR-V’s space and fuel efficiency are its key selling points that give it an edge over its competitors like Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson and Nissan Rogue.
