Will the aggressive 2019 Lexus ES beat the competition?

The Lexus ES is one of the popular sedans that dominate Dubai roads. The stylish sedan is known to make heads turn around while it elegantly zooms on the road. However, the sedan has often drawn flak for not bearing an aggressive style. Taking note of the criticism, Lexus has improved the upcoming model of the Lexus ES by making it more stylish and even more premium than the existing model.

The 2019 Lexus ES will be based on the Toyota next-generation architecture (TNGA) platform and it will make its debut at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show. However, Lexus’s latest teaser has enabled car enthusiasts to catch a glimpse of the new Lexus ES that has sharp features and which looks more assertive.

 

Improved Styling

The style improvement in the 2019 Lexus ES is easily noticeable due to the huge spindle grille that is flanked by LED headlamps. The new set of headlamps also have LED daytime running lights. Lexus has also added metallic styling to its grille borders and also on the chrome accents.  The sedan’s rear end looks sharper due to the newly designed rear bumper and also due to the new LED taillamps.

 

Powertrain

Lexus is yet to reveal the engine details of 2019 Lexus ES and the powertrain specifications can only be speculated by taking clues from the 2019 Toyota Avalon.  The Avalon comes with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system. The hybrid trim level of the Avalon comes with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine along with an electric motor drive.

The 2019 Lexus ES will have a similar powertrain setup and one can expect the sedan to have a new adaptive suspension that is similar to the one found in the Avalon. The premium trim-level of the Lexus ES is also expected to many techs features available in the Avalon. These include smartwatch integration, Apple CarPlay integration, Amazon Alexa voice assistant, Qi wireless charging and wi-fi hotspot.

The Lexus ES is one of the most popular sedans in the world and it mainly competes with the Nissan Maxima.  However, the growing demand for SUVs and crossovers has affected the sales of the sedan.
