Audi has always strived to challenge leaders like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus to maintain its position in the competitive luxury segment. So, it was a definitive moment for the German carmaker when the Audi A8 won the much-coveted award of ‘World Luxury Car 2018’ at the New York Auto Show.
This is the ninth time that the Audi A8 has won the global award to prove its mettle as one of the most admired cars. The panel of judge comprised of 82 car experts from 24 different countries. The car was judged on several parameters like design, passenger comfort, safety levels, price-to-performance ratio, carbon emission and driving performance.

Audi A8 – The Pinnacle of Automobile Technology
Suitable for both urban as well as highway driving, the A8 has always occupied a special place in Audi’s fleet of cars as it is the company’s flagship sedan and a true representative of Audi’s high-tech automobile engineering. The Audi is equipped with some of the advanced autonomous driving features and a plethora of luxurious features like the back-seat foot warmer.
The A8’s advanced driver-assist systems, the voice-recognized navigation system, the reduced aeroacoustics, the adaptive air suspension, the touch control system and improved vibration mitigation will all be carried ahead in other Audi vehicles. Moreover, the laser light technology used in the car’s high-beam and adaptive matrix LED headlights makes the car a perfect luxury vehicle for a typical monsoon day.
Engine Options
Customers who buy the 2019 Audi A8 will have the option to choose between two powertrain variants. The standard Audi A8 is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine and delivers 340 hp. A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 that delivers 460 hp is another engine variant that can be chosen. Additionally, all A8 engines are fitted with MHEV (Mild-Hybrid Electric Vehicle) components that improve fuel efficiency.
