Instead of relying on turbocharged engines, Mazda engineers have decided to apply their technical expertise to upgrade the existing engine to deliver 181 hp instead of the existing 155 hp. The engineering team has decided to achieve this feat by altering camshaft lift and also by modifying the valve size on the exhaust as well as intake side. Additionally, the car will be fitted with a free-flow exhaust with an enlarged pipe for better air intake.
The engine’s performance has been further improved due to the lighter pistons, lighter connecting rods and a crankshaft that delivers higher revolutions per minute. In order to curb the extra vibrations, Mazda has equipped the engine with a dual-mass flywheel. The changes in the engine are sure to alter the driving performance in a fantastic way. Additional changes
The 2019 MX-5 Miata will not be available with a CD player. Instead, the roadster gets a telescopic steering wheel along with Mazda’s Smart City Braking System. Additionally, the car will be equipped with a rear-view camera. The Canadian version of the Miata loses the base-spec GX trim level and other regional versions can expect similar changes.
