Subaru has updated its practical SUV and the 2019 Subaru Forester has been labeled as the ‘roomiest and the most versatile’ Forester model ever launched. The all-new Subaru Forester was recently revealed at the 2018 New York Auto Show and it has grown longer and wider due to the new Subaru Global Platform.
The 2019 Subaru Forester has a wheelbase of 2.670 mm and it measures 4625 mm in length, 1815 mm in width and 1730 mm in height. Additionally, it has a ground clearance of 220 mm which is one of the best in its respective segment. The fifth-generation Subaru Forester has been equipped with advanced technologies that assist the driver in enhancing safety.
Advanced Features
The 2019 Subaru Forester comes with its proprietary EyeSight driver assistance technology whose ‘Driver Focus’ function detects signs of driver fatigue or driver distraction. The technology makes use of a facial recognition software that sends triggers to prevent accidents.
The Forester’s cabin gets new front seats in addition to the new electronic parking brake. The model retains the automatic climate control system that is found in the previous model. The SUV also gets the latest infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The basic version of the SUV gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen while higher trim levels are equipped with an 8-inch multimedia system.
The Engine
The US version of the 2019 Subaru Forester model gets 182 hp power from a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder boxer engine that is paired with lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) system and an all-wheel drive. The regional version of the Subaru Forester will differ slightly with respect to specifications.
The absence of a manual gearbox, the Subaru Forester uses pedals to manually control the seven-speed transmission system. In the latest development, Subaru has done away with the turbocharged XT trim level.
