The Kia Soul, a multipurpose compact crossover, has won several awards for its quality and safety features. The Korean crossover is regarded as one of the best family vehicles that deliver value for money. In the Dubai crossover market, the Kia Soul competes directly with the Nissan Juke and it appeals to a wider audience.
Kia will be launching an upgraded version of the Kia Soul in 2019 and the new model will be far more powerful than the existing model that gets 122 hp from a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine. Labelled as the 2020 Kia Soul, the all-new version was recently spotted during a test drive and the covered prototypes clearly reveal the style elements that are going to make the Kia Soul look more refined.
More Stylish
The 2020 Kia Soul retains the characteristic boxy shape as well as the vertical taillights of the existing version. The designers have spruced up the front by introducing split headlight design that separates the headlight projector lights from the daytime running lights.
The Powertrain
The existing engine version will be carried ahead in the 2020 Kia Soul and the only difference in the engine setup will be that the upcoming Kia Soul will be delivered 201 hp by the powertrain. The model for the GCC market might be tuned to have a power rating little less than 201 hp. The engine is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission system that makes the car fun to drive.
An electric version
In 2018, Kia will be extending the Soul’s range to 111 miles and the 2020 Kia Soul will have the same range. There is a possibility that the range will be increased in later versions to compete with electric SUV’s with a 200-mile range. However, this is just a speculation and it will be long before Dubai sees an electric Kia Soul that fiercely competes with other low-cost electric SUV’s for the mass market.
