2019 Toyota Avalon gets more premium with new design and features

The Avalon has always considered as a reliable full-size sedan from the Toyota stable. Despite having a high-performance engine, the first few generations of Toyota Avalon were criticized for their boring style. The third and fourth generation Avalon models have received substantial makeover and now the car is known for both, its performance as well as its looks.  

The fifth generation of Avalon was recently unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show and the car appears premium than ever thanks to the efforts taken by California-based Calty Design Research Inc.; Toyota design studio. The car is based on Toyota’s new global architecture platform that also underpins the Camry.

 

Upscale features

The 2019 Toyota Avalon’s exterior style has been accentuated by simple horizontal lines that are chiselled across the center, the top as well as the lower parts of the vehicle.  The new model also features 30D LED tail lamps and they arranged in an ‘aero-fin’ formation that is not available in previous versions. The new Avalon will be available in four versions, namely XSE, Touring, XLE and Limited.

The XLE and Limited trims have got chrome grills that which is dark grey in colour and that has a chrome border. Additionally, the premium versions have body-coloured rear-view mirror housings, LED headlight bezels and trunk lid spoiler. The base version has 17-inch wheels while the premium versions have 19-inch wheels.

 

Plush Interiors

The interiors of 2019 Toyota Avalon have a luxurious feel due to the Yamaha wood trim and the soft materials that are easily noticeable.  The car is equipped with a 9-inch infotainment system that aids in navigation and which has features like Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa connectivity, automotive climate control system, and wireless device charging.

 

Engine

 2019 Toyota Avalon will be sold with two engine options and customers can either choose between 3.5-litre V6 engine and 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.  The hybrid engine is the Toyota Hybrid System II that comprises of 650-volt electric motor that is paired with a CVT gearbox.  The V6 engine is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission system.

Toyota hasn’t revealed the power ratings of these engines and it is widely speculated that the 2019 Toyota Avalon will get a power of about 296 bhp and a torque of 362 Nm. Car enthusiasts in Dubai car market can expect the car to be made available in showrooms later this year.
