The 2017 Ford EcoSport has got a new facelift as the compact SUV is being prepared to garner a greater market share. Ford is particularly keen to strengthen its position in the European car market and hence the car maker will be launching the 2018 Ford EcoSport ST-line exclusively for the European market.
Ford EcoSport’s ST-Line model will enable the SUV to earn a coveted place amongst other popular models like S-MAX ST-Line, Kuga ST-Line, Fiesta ST-Line, Edge ST-Line, Focus ST-Line and Mondeo ST-Line. The new Ford EcoSport ST-line will also be equipped with a different engine version.
The Engine
The 2018 Ford EcoSport ST-line will be a performance-oriented car as it will be delivered 125 hp and 221 pound-feet torque by a 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine. The car features Ford’s intelligent AWD technology and a 6-speed manual transmission system. The intelligent AWD system is responsible for offering superior handling while the car is being driven on the highway as well as on a rough terrain.
The interiors
The car has a leather-wrapped steering wheel and the seats are partly made up of leather and partly made up of polyester. The car uses leather in such an extensive way that even the gear-shifter and the handbrake lever are covered in leather. The model has stainless steel pedals and the words ‘ST-Line’ are clearly etched on the sill plates.
The car’s cargo floor is adjustable and it is equipped with the SYNC3 infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 8-inch floating touchscreen is at the driver’s disposal to control the features of the infotainment system. Additionally, the car is equipped with a 10-speaker B&O audio system for music lovers.
Launch Date
The Ford EcoSport ST-line will be launched in the first quarter of 2018. However, the model will not be released in Dubai as an another facelifted version of the 2017 Ford EcoSport will be released in the Middle East. The model was recently showcased at the Dubai Motor Show and it will be released in 2018. The 2018 Ford EcoSport will be as powerful as the ST-line version as it will be get 123 hp. However, the power will be delivered by a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine.
