The new Mercedes A-Class’s cabin undergoes a major makeover

There was a time when the luxury segment mostly comprised of customers who preferred long sedans over hatchbacks. In fact, hatchbacks were never associated with luxury cars and the trend continued till customers became brand conscious. Mercedes-Benz and BMW were one of the first luxury car makers who introduced premium hatchback car models for their respective brand loyal customers.

Today, the luxury hatchback segment is dominated by Mercedes A-class and BMW 1 series of cars that are being frequently upgraded to attract customers. Most recently, Mercedes-Benz has upgraded the cabin of its A-Class hatchbacks and the newly released images suggest that the German car maker is al set to revolutionize the class of compact hatchbacks.

A major makeover

The car’s dashboard has been divided into two 3-dimensional sections. Moreover, Mercedes is offering three versions of a free-standing display and the screen size will come in 7in x 7in, 7in x 10.25in and 10.25in x 10.25in respectively. Additionally, the air-conditioning display has also been integrated into the central screen. The dashboard retains the physical heating an ventilation switches.

The car cabin also bears features that are inspired by other Mercedes cars. For example, the cabin has turbine-style air vents and multifunction steering wheel that have been borrowed from E-Class and S-Class respectively.

Additional room

The new Mercedes A-Class also offers a greater interior space and  a much better 360-degree visibility. The new car promises more headroom, shoulder-room and elbow-room. Additionally, the luggage compartment offer space that is 29 litres more than previous versions. The loading aperture has increased by 200 mm and the luggage compartment floor is more longer by 115 mm. Overall, the luggage capacity is 370 litres.

Launch

Mercedes will be unveiling the new generation Mercedes A-Class car in March 2018 at the Geneva Auto Show.  Since the past one year, Mercedes has been rigorously testing the car in Dubai for ensuring its durability and calibration. With the newly designed interior cabin, the car is sure to grab attention during the launch event.
