Ford Mustang’s hybrid model to be launched in 2020

Ford Mustang’s hybrid model to be launched in 2020

Ford Mustang is not only one of the best cheap sports cars but also the best selling cars in international markets. Ford has doubled the Mustang’s power over a course of ten years and the present-day standard version of Ford Mustang gets 310 horsepower that is delivered by 3.7 L "Cyclone" V6 engine. Keeping up with its goal to increase the horsepower and torque, the company has reportedly aimed to launch the hybrid model of the Mustang in 2020.

Ford Mustang Hybrid

Car enthusiasts were expecting Ford to design a hybrid Mustang for a long time. Ford has confirmed the launching of the hybrid model and it is claimed that the car will be equipped with a powertrain that will deliver a power of a V8 engine. Currently, it is not known whether the Mustang will be equipped with a turbocharged engine. All that is known is that the Mustang, the F-150 and the Transit Custom van are the vehicles that will be getting a hybrid powertrain.

Living up to Brand Image

The company’s move to launch the model is solely on the basis of its efforts to live up to Mustang’s brand image and not for improving fuel efficiency. Ford is aware that customers buy Mustang more for its adrenaline rush while driving down a long trafficless road. Fuel economy was never Mustang’s strong point and Ford would never want to upgrade engine power just for improving fuel economy figures. One other significant advantage of a hybrid powertrain is that the car’s engine will deliver more power due to improved torque.

A cheer for Dubai’s Mustang Clubs

The Ford Mustang might not be dominating the Dubai market but the sports car does have a large number of dedicated Mustang lovers who love to race the roaring car on desert roads. The news regarding the Mustang’s hybrid model is sure to bring a high level of excitement amongst Dubai’s numerous Mustang clubs. The popularity of the iconic car is quite evident by the fact that the Ford Mustang GT is being showcased at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show.
