With three weeks to go before the Los Angeles Auto Show, a new wave of excitement is being brought by the imminent launch of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler. The rugged SUV will be launched at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show and enthusiasts have already got hold of the spy shots of the forthcoming model. Moreover, the Wrangler’s fuel economy figures that have been posted on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) website reveal that the upcoming model has higher fuel efficiency than the previous versions.
The data posted on EPA reveal that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler will be powered by the 3.6-litre V-6 engine that will deliver 17/23/19 mpg when couples with a 6-speed manual transmission system. Optionally, the engine delivers 18/23/20 mpg when paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system. All the figures mentioned by the EPA are for the four-wheel drive vehicle.
Customers have option to choose models that offer unique features like three-piece hardtop convertible roof and a limited slip differential. The model has the typical slot grille that is found in other Jeep models. Moreover, the model is equipped with three extra gears that lead to greater fuel efficiency when used with automatic transmission. This can be considered as a significant improvement over the outgoing Jeep model whose performance and fuel economy was restricted by a lesser number of gears.
Jeep Wrangler has always occupied a special place in the hearts of expatriates and Emiratis in Dubai who wish to hop into the iconic American SUV and enjoy their weekend desert safari. Earlier, the Jeep Wrangler Level Red was launched for giving the model an intimidating look. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is expected to exceed expectations and carry ahead the legacy of Jeep in the region. It is also speculated that a 2.0-liter turbo-4 version of the upcoming model will be released later. However, one will need for the Los Angeles Auto Show to get confirmation.
