2018 Nissan Maxima offers new features at a reasonable price

The Nissan Maxima has always been Nissan’s flagship sedan ever since it made its debut in 1981. Marketed as a ‘four-door sports car’, the Nissan Maxima appears to get better and better every year. The eighth generation was launched in 2016 and the redesigned models flaunt a radical design with a floating roof and a V-shaped grille. The Maxima has also been given a flat-bottom steering wheel to give the sedan a sportier look. The car model continues to undergo minor tweaks every year as Nissan wants to make the model look fresh and all spruced up.

The previous version was equipped with apple CarPlay while the 2018 model gets Android Auto. Moreover, passengers in the rear seat get access to two USB ports for using their mobile devices. The 2018 model also has an automatic emergency brake system that uses radar-based monitoring for detecting the possibility of a collision. The system alerts the driver if there a collision is likely to occur. If the speed is not reduced, the car automatically slows down for preventing a probable accident.

The 2018 Nissan Maxima retains the same 3.5-litre V6 engine and a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) that is also present in the earlier versions.  The engine delivers 300 hp and the top speed attained by the vehicle is 135 mph. The car’s power enables it to zoom from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds.  Nissan has imparted new colors to the 2018 model and the sedan is also available in Carnelian Red Shade.

Not much has changed on the pricing front as the car price hasn’t appreciated much. The base price of the 2017 model of Maxima S was $33,395 while the base price of the 2018 model is $33,905. In Dubai, the Nissan Maxima is available at a starting price of AED 114,000. The low price appreciation makes the 2018 Nissan Maxima a competitive model for car enthusiasts who love to drive a luxury sedan at an attractive price.
