The BMW Z4 roadster had earned a reputation of being fast, reliable and cost effective. It appears that BMW wishes to build on Z4’s popularity because the famous German car maker has reportedly collaborated with Toyota to conceptualize and design the third generation Z4; an upgraded version of Z4. BMW hasn’t released any performance metrics with regard to the upgraded version of the Z4 and all the speculations are based only on the conceptual details of the car.
If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Z4 will be available in three versions, namely the S20i, S30i and the 340i. The S20i version will be fitted with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 180 hp. S30i has an upgraded engine that provides 250 hp. The 340i will be equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six engine that ensures that the car is boosted by power of more than 320 hp. It is reported that the engine will either deliver 335 hp or 385 hp.
The Z4 will come with luxurious interiors and the cabin is to be equipped with an iDrive control knob as well as the shifter that is seen in previous models. Moreover, the cabin has fancy electronics that will enable you to control the car’s radio and HVAC system.
Despite the changes in its interiors, the Z4 hasn’t undergone drastic changes as far as the car’s exterior is concerned. The upcoming model of Z4 has the same hood and the same rear as other BMW roadsters. Media reports claim that the camouflaged version of the model was spotted and it looks less aggressive than the concept car. It appears that the preproduction model did not have the deep creases of the concept car and so we have to keep our fingers crossed to check whether the media claims are true or not.
