Honda Civic Si continues to remain a mass market’s sports car

There was a time when excitement arose every time a sports car zoomed on the road. Trendy sports cars were considered as rich boys’ toys and people used to adorn their walls with posters of exotic sports cars. But the scenario has changed as the there are a number of sports cars that are positioned to appeal the mass market as well.  Every car maker has come up with its own sports car that can be a enjoyed by customers who can’t afford to drive a Ferrari. Honda Civic Si (Sport Injected) is one such affordable sports car from the Japanese car maker that has been winning accolades over the years.

The 2018 Honda Civic Si is a perfect starter sports car that is tougher than Subaru WRX and the bulkier Volkswagen GTI.  It is powered by an upgraded version of 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 205 hp to the car. The powerful engine enables the car to attain a speed from 0-60 mph in just 6.3 seconds.  However, the Honda Civic Si is not the fastest sports car as it manages to attain a maximum speed of 137 mph. Nevertheless, the car delivers a smooth drive thanks to the six-speed manual transmission system that prevents the wear and tear of the clutch system.

The Civic Si has wider and taller decorative panels than a typical Honda hatchback vehicle. Additionally, it has big 18-inch wheels and a rear spoiler that is separate from the hatch. However, it is not the sporty look that has delighted its customers but the value delivered to them at a base price of only $24,100. The low price tag has made the Honda Civic Si a formidable cost leader that remains unchallenged even today.  The car is said to deliver a true value for money and its name continues to top the list of sports cars that are considered as most affordable.
